CAC Online Speaker Series
Part of its efforts to build a well informed community and hold exciting and crucial discussions, over monthly online events, CAC is happy to welcome distinguished speakers to discuss cultural and social topics that matters to the community. Discussions will be live and participants will be asked to RSVP. Once registered, participants will receive a link to access the lecture online.
Our guest speaker is: Professor Nadia Abuelezam
Professor Nadia will be discussing “The Health of Arab Americans in the era of COVID-19”

During the talk on May 1, Dr. Abuelezam will discuss the ways in which Arab Americans are vulnerable to the threat of COVID-19 and discuss the general health issues facing Arab populations in the United States. She will also discuss her ongoing projects in Arab American health and provide opportunities for engagement.
“Nadia N. Abuelezam, Sc.D. is an assistant professor at the Connell School of Nursing and an epidemiologist. Dr. Abuelezam was trained in infectious disease epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She has expertise in mathematical modeling, data analytic approaches in public health, and mitigating health inequities for vulnerable populations. Her current research focuses on understanding health risks in hard to reach populations, including immigrants. The goals of her program of research are to use quantitative methods and novel data streams to better understand inequities in health outcomes and healthcare access in resource poor settings and vulnerable populations.To read more about all the events in the online speaker series, Please Click Here
